Celebrating Over 160 Years of Charatan

The Charatan story began in 1863, when Frederick Charatan opened his tobacco shop in Mansell Street, London.

Over the following generations, Charatan became firmly established within British tobacco culture, eventually developing a cigar range blended specifically with the UK cigar smoker in mind.

Following the acquisition of Charatan by Tor Imports, production was transferred in 2018 to Joya de Nicaragua, Nicaragua's oldest cigar factory. The move allowed Charatan to continue using high-quality tobaccos while benefiting from generations of Nicaraguan cigar-making expertise.

The Limited Edition Colina

The Colina range was created as a limited-edition release marking a new chapter in the Charatan story.

At the heart of the blend is a carefully selected combination of Nicaraguan tobaccos, including filler leaves from the renowned Jalapa Valley and Estelí growing regions.

Selected tobaccos used in the blend have been aged for up to four years, allowing the leaves to mature and develop greater smoothness and complexity before being rolled.
