The story of My Father Cigars begins with José Pepín García, born in Cuba in 1950. Pepín rolled his first cigar at just 11 years old, igniting a lifelong passion that would see him become one of the most respected and influential figures in the modern cigar industry. His dedication to craftsmanship, artistry, and authenticity has shaped a legacy admired by aficionados worldwide.

In 2003, the García family opened their first small factory in Little Havana, Miami. Just a few years later, in 2009, they expanded operations to Nicaragua with the creation of the My Father Cigars Factory (Garcia Family Industrial Park) — a seven-acre, fully integrated facility where tobacco is grown, fermented, aged, blended, and hand-rolled entirely under family control. This meticulous, hands-on approach ensures exceptional consistency and quality in every cigar produced.

Working closely with his son Jaime García, Pepín has developed an award-winning portfolio of blends, celebrated for their balance, depth, and refinement. Among these accolades is the iconic Flor de las Antillas, named Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2012 — a milestone that cemented My Father Cigars’ place among the world’s elite cigar makers.
