Talamona Pipes
Talamona Pipes were founded in 1970 by Cesare Talamona, a highly skilled artisan from Oltrona on Lake Varese, a region renowned for its rich pipe-making tradition. Through his distinctive creativity and bold approach to large, expressive pipes — known locally as “Pipatt” — Cesare helped bring the craftsmanship of the Varese lake region to international attention.
Talamona quickly gained recognition beyond Italy, becoming known for pipes that combined generous proportions with strong character and unmistakable style. Each piece reflected Cesare’s belief that pipe making was not simply a craft, but a personal expression.
When Cesare retired at the remarkable age of 85, he chose not to let his life’s work fade. Instead, he entrusted the future of Talamona to fellow artisan Paolo Croci, who acquired the brand in 2007. From 2010 onwards, Paolo resumed limited production, remaining faithful to Cesare’s vision while continuing the tradition of high Italian craftsmanship.
Today, every Talamona pipe is handmade in Italy in small numbers, maintaining exceptional quality, distinctive shaping, and the generous sizes for which the brand is known. The influence of Paolo Croci is clear in every piece, yet the spirit of Cesare Talamona remains firmly at its heart.
At Buster Cigars, we offer Talamona Pipes for those who value individuality, artisan skill, and the belief that a truly great pipe has a soul — and that its owner finds a part of themselves within it.
